How to Play the Asia Flags Quiz
47 flags from East, South, South-East, Central and Western Asia. Many Asian flags carry a strong single symbol, which makes them easier to learn once you know what to look for.
- Look at the flag. Three of the nine tiles start open.
- Guess the country. Every miss opens three more tiles and gives a hint: the continent, the main colours, then the first letter.
- Keep your run going. Solve it within three tries and move on to the next flag. Your best run is saved on this device.
Tips for the Asia Flags
- A red disc is Japan on white and Bangladesh on green. Laos has a white disc on a blue band, and Palau (in Oceania) a yellow disc on light blue.
- Crescent and star flags: Turkey (white on red), Pakistan (white on green with a white band), Malaysia (yellow on blue beside red and white stripes), Singapore (a white crescent and five stars on red over white), Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan (striped flags with a crescent).
- Nepal is the only national flag that is not a rectangle: two stacked red pennants with a blue border.
- Qatar and Bahrain both have a white serrated band at the hoist. Qatar is maroon with nine points and much longer; Bahrain is red with five points.
- Some flags show a picture: a dragon for Bhutan, a lion with a sword for Sri Lanka, Angkor Wat for Cambodia and a cedar tree for Lebanon.
- Red, white, black and green combinations point to Western Asia: Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Palestine.
